Do Christians ever have fun?

category: naughty monkey shoes
by Kim Shane,

There are a superabundance of myths that surround Christianity and its followers. One of them is that Christians are all "goody two shoes." The assumption is that Christians can’t have fun anymore, because they have so many rules to obey.

This is not true at all. Christians still have fun. I drink occasionally. I like smoking crack. I sometimes drop an M80 in the toilet when I use public restrooms. Of course, I run like a Mo’ Fo’ after I drop the bomb, Yo. I like doing drive by shootings. I go up to random people at the mall and slap ‘em in the face, then kiss them on the cheek.

LOL. Okay- I was kidding! I don’t really do any of that stuff. Well, I do drink occasionally. I watch movies. I like heavy metal music. I enjoy good sex with my wife. We spank the monkey every once in a while. Christians can still have fun, you know! Sure, there are rules to go by. But there are always rules in life.

So in conclusion, yes, us Christians can still have fun. We can even be a little bit naughty sometimes. Just because you commit your heart to God does not mean that you stop living!

Comments? Criticisms?

Of course we have fun! :-)

I love camping, fishing, shooting, the mountains, baking, decorating cakes, laughing, joking, spending time with family, watching movies, listening to music, having fun with my son.

And when I get married again, I will enjoy the physical intimacy with that husband. (nothing wrong with enjoying sex when you are married.)

Too many people think that just because we are Christians, we are boring and don’t do anything fun.

To tell the truth, I have had the most fun with friends who were Christian. It’s good, clean fun and that’s the best kind.

God says that having fun is a sin. We are to be the light and salt of the world, not the joy of the world.

Not all Christians are the same. Some take it more seriously or from a different angle than others. To say all Christians do or do not have fun would be a gross generalization.

    This coming from an atheist.

My first relationship ended due to my girlfriend getting more and more into Christianity. That and the fact I’m as left wing as you’ll ever get, leads me to believe that Christianity is one of the worst paths to follow. I do believe that in the majority of cases, their life is deprived of fun - that is of course if you follow it properly.

    Yup, I have fun.

I like to have the occasional beer or glass of wine. I watch movies. Love music. I’m a voracious reader. Love to travel. I’m a CSI addict. I kick butt on Need For Speed, and also love to build houses on Sims 2 and 3. Love to shop, hang out with friends, talk on the phone…

I don’t know if people realize that oftentimes, Christians do almost the same things everyone else does, within reason.

I wonder where the idea came from that you have to break the "rules" to have fun?
Do you suppose Jesus never had fun?
He went to a wedding party, didn’t He? Do you suppose He did not dance with the other guests? Do you suppose He did not drink a bit of the wine He had made from water?
Children loved Him, and He loved children! Do you suppose He never laughed?
How sad for anyone who thinks that they have to break the rules in order to have fun!
That is not to say that human beings don’t (and Christians are human beings) break the rules…but is it "fun" to do so? There may be a temporary thrill in, say, drugs or drunkeness, but the price your body pays is certainly not "fun".
And the big question on everyone’s mind, I’m sure…what about "forbidden" sex…is it "fun"? I don’t suppose it’s any more "fun" than married sex…I mean, there are only so many things one person can do with another, right? A better question…is "forbidden" sex "more fun" than sex with someone you truly love, and who truly loves you? What could be more "fun" than the anticipation of waiting for that "special someone"? What could be more thrilling than giving yourself for the first time to your beloved? What could be more satisfying than the special intimacy between two lovers? Knowing that it is for you alone? How could you ever compare promiscuity to promises kept?

Who has more "fun" than a three year old at a birthday party?????

    Think about it…

I have a lot of fun and enjoy it very much,When Jesus turned that water into wine at a wedding they said it was the best they had and why did the groom save it for last, Tell me it wasn’t any fun going on.

Yes, i have fun, but i don’t know if many people would recognise it exactly as "fun" by their definition of the term. The most fun thing i did today was discuss a possible liver disease with one of my clients, which revealed that he may have Tokharian ancestry and therefore far eastern alcohol breaking down enzymes. Most people would probably not find that fun.

Yes I have fun your Question was insulting

I don’t think God is going to send me to hell for going bowling with my friends or SHOPPING at the mall or going to the beach with my family nor is he going to send a lighting bolt my way if I go to Carnivals with my Church youth group

I’m sure Jesus himself while on earth Laughed with his mother marry and had fun times with his disciples which he viewed as friends.
